I’ve been listening to music in spanish lately and I’ve been lucky to find these two amazing acts. Los Amparito is an electro-folk band led by music engineer Carlos Pesina. They are often compared to Animal Collective and Panda Bear and I must say that besides the obvious commonalities that I like from these bands, I truly enjoy the use of traditional Mexican music used in Los Amparito songs. Unfortunately, they don’t have an album out yet but you can download most of their songs for free here. Another band that I instantly fell in love with is Puerto Rican symphonic experimental pop band Balun. The lead singer, Angélica Negrón is a talented multi-instrumentalist that sweetens every song with her gentle voice and beautiful arrangements. “Medio Contenido” is their new EP and you can stream it here.
